Truly Divine!
I am still vibrating from our recent trip to Teotihuacan. Together with Mugoux Vara and seven courageous women, we trekked up and down pyramids, through secret passageways, ancient ruins, natural caves. With indigenous curandera (medicine woman) Dona Emma and her sister Estrella and another powerful woman named Guadalupe Flores, we experienced an authentic temazcal sweat lodge, engaging in deep healing work of the feminine.
We shared beautiful, authentic Mexican meals together, laughed, cried and shared many
stories together. On our day ‘off’ we explored the magnificent Museum of Anthropology in
Mexico City and the beautiful Basilica of Guadalupe.
I am reminded of the Irish saying, ‘may the road rise up to greet you, may the wind be at your
back.’ If ever I have felt that road greeting our every step through Teotihuacan, and the feeling
of the wind at our backs, this trip was it. We experienced a sense of grace and presence of
Spirit with every step.
Each time I return to my spiritual home, Teotihuacan, I am reminded that there are truly places of power on this blessed earth, and this is one of them. It is an ineffable experience, feeling
and sensing that this is a place where we can return to and be completely supported to release old patterns that no longer serve us, feeling renewed and rebooted, into an upgraded system of our truer selves. I feel very blessed and grateful for the privilege of leading this sacred work.
Of course we don’t have to go to Teotihuacan to experience these spiritual ‘upgrades’ – we can
do it in our own backyard! But it is nice to know that there are places of deep resonance where
the earth holds centuries of knowledge and powerful energy which support us as we face the
truth of who we really are. Teotihuacan is said to be ‘the place where humans become divine’.
I see the countenance of our participants change from reluctant overworked people to radiant,
happy beings, in just a few days. It is a beautiful thing to witness.
Thank you to all of you who said ‘yes!’ to this journey. May you all continue to feel the blessing
of YOU! Thank you to all of my Toltec teachers who, over the last twenty years, guided me through the
many initiations which prepared me to teach and lead this sacred shamanic path.
Merilyn Tunneshende, Gini Gentry, Bernadette Vigil, Heather Ash Amara, Elenore Mayhood,
and always in gratitude, Francis Rico.
